What is Cleo?

Cleo is a pre-launch AI calling agent for bounded outbound tasks. A user defines and reviews the destination, objective, constraints, success criteria, and duration before a live call can begin.

What calls is Cleo designed to handle?

Initial use cases are appointment or reservation coordination, questions that a business must answer, and status follow-up for an order, repair, reservation, or service.

Is public personal signup open?

No. Cleo is in pre-launch development and public personal signup is not open. Business and API access are limited to approved work.

Which countries and languages does Cleo support?

Cleo Powered has not announced public country or language coverage. The current implementation defaults to U.S. English, but every approved engagement must confirm its destination regions, language, provider support, and applicable calling rules before live use.

Does Cleo place a call as soon as a task is saved?

No. Saving or preparing a task does not dial. A live call requires a separate confirmation that shows the destination and objective again.

Does Cleo record calls?

Persistent call recording is not enabled as a current product feature. Cleo may create transcript segments, call events, a summary, and a structured result as service records.

Can a business use Cleo?

The business experience is in pre-launch development. Approved teams may discuss a bounded workflow, its controls, and its required result with Cleo Powered.

Is there a Cleo API?

A versioned API contract exists for approved Agent Projects. It uses revocable bearer keys, idempotent call creation, bounded request fields, lifecycle reads, explicit sync and cancellation, and structured results. Self-service API access is not open.

What is x402 in Cleo?

x402 is an open HTTP payment protocol. Cleo treats it as an optional advanced path for compatible agents or wallets; it is not required for the default platform and public x402 access is not currently open.

Can Cleo be used for emergencies or unsolicited marketing?

No. Emergency-service misuse, spam, unsolicited marketing, impersonation, harassment, fraud, harmful or illegal activity, privacy theft, and safeguard evasion are prohibited call purposes.
